Let's partner together on your journey to optimal nutrition!
Welcome to Summit Nutrition where specialized Medical Nutrition Therapy is tailored to meet individual healthcare needs. My name is Echo Heiman and I am a Registered Dietitian. I am also a Board Certified Specialist in renal nutrition, providing expert care for patients with kidney-related conditions. In addition to kidney nutrition, I work with a variety of other nutrition-related concerns.
My approach is collaborative, working closely with patients to understand and meet their unique health goals. I will coordinate with your other healthcare providers to ensure the best integrated care, creating a cohesive and comprehensive treatment plan.
Personalized consultations are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual platform, providing privacy and convenience for all our clients.
As your dietitian at Summit Nutrition, I am dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health and nutrition through evidence-based strategies and a team-oriented approach to your care.
With a passion for empowering individuals, I'm here to guide you toward a healthier life through the power of evidence-based nutrition and personalized lifestyle interventions. At Summit Nutrition, your well-being is my priority. What does it mean to approach nutrition and lifestyle changes with evidence-based practices? Simply put, it means that every recommendation I make is grounded in the latest scientific research combined with my years of clinical experience to be effective in improving health outcomes.
An initial Q & A phone call between you and me to briefly discuss goals, ask questions, to provide insight into what can be expected from working together. For you to be successful, I want to ensure that our collaboration is a good fit, therefore this is a complementary no-obligation service that allows us the opportunity to ascertain this.
The session begins with an in-depth discussion about your current eating habits, lifestyle, and medical history, a review of your biochemical data, medications, and supplements. Any specific concerns or goals you have will also be discussed. This gives a good starting point to develop goals towards what you want to achieve.
Your journey towards better health doesn't end after our initial consultation. I'm here to provide unwavering support every step of the way. Regular follow-up sessions are highly recommended to monitor progress, make necessary adjustments to the plan, and provide ongoing education, support, and motivation.
Often times people have questions when they are venturing into something new. Below you will find some commonly asked questions and answers.

I am in the process of contracting with three major insurance companies. In the meantime, I will remain a cash-pay provider, and an invoice, also known as a super-bill, can be provided to you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Please note that not all Medical Nutrition Therapy or Dietitian services are reimbursable by insurance, and it is highly encouraged to explore this with your individual insurance company.
You will be provided an invite to create an account through the patient portal upon requesting an appointment. During that time, you will be asked to store a form of payment on file; Credit card. Payments are due in full at the time of service.
While both registered dietitians and nutritionists aim to improve health and well-being through nutrition, registered dietitians have more rigorous and standardized education, training, and certification requirements. In addition, the title "Registered Dietitian" is legally protected and regulated by professional organizations and government bodies.
RDs adhere to a professional code of ethics and are accountable to regulatory boards. This qualifies them to provide more comprehensive and medically-oriented nutrition care. Nutritionists can offer valuable guidance on healthy eating and lifestyle but may have varying levels of expertise and training. If you need specialized dietary advice, particularly for managing medical conditions, seeking a registered dietitian is recommended.
Yes! It is important to engage your other health care providers in your overall care in order to provide an integrated holistic approach. This is achieved when the client signs a Patient Authorization for Use Disclosure of Health Information form.
No. However, I do recommend that you book at least 3-4 sessions as the first couple of sessions are focused on getting an understanding of your medical background, and nutritional needs, as well as laying the foundation for how to accomplish your goals.
Visits are conducted using a HIPPA-compliant virtual platform. You will need a reliable internet connection and a web camera to be seen for visits. Please ensure you are in a private quiet location during sessions. Only the discovery calls are offered by phone.
Echo Heiman is a Registered Dietitian serving Idaho, Washington & Montana.
